Reignite (Curvy Seduction Saga Book 3) Page 9

He released the plug, but stayed, licking and biting at my skin.

“Your juices are everywhere, Angel. You taste unbelievable.

The vibrator turned on, and he pushed it to what had to be the highest setting. My knees collapsed as the buzz worked its magic. My arms, lashed in place, held me up.

“I can’t resist you. Your body seduces me every time.”

Gray knelt in front of me, and I wasn’t expecting that. “Angel, my angel. I say this now, and in front of everyone here. I am yours, and you are mine. Forever.”

My heart pounded and then skipped a beat. How could he be so powerful and yet sweet at the same time?

He buried his face in my pussy and lapped at my skin, drinking me in. The thrill of having him beneath me, pleasuring me was all too much.

His tongue swiped across my clit over and over. The butt plug vibrated inside of me. My nipples became further engorged as I got more and more turned on, and that intensified the pain.

My body was alive. Singing, dancing. I flew higher and higher.

Gray replaced his mouth with his finger. “Don’t come yet, Angel. Not yet.”

Oh, no. I was so close. I dropped the chain from my mouth and begged. “Please, Gray. Please. Let me come.”

“Not yet. You can go higher.”

A low moan burst from my lungs. My legs began to tremor, then they full out shook.

Gray’s fingers flew across my clit, and then his other hand joined, pushing inside of my channel. He found my g-spot and crooked his fingers across it.

I couldn’t yell, I couldn’t scream. That in itself would be a release and I wouldn’t be able to hold back.

“Por favor,” I whispered. “Por favor, Sir. Let me come.”

Gray moaned. “That’s what I wanted to hear. Good girl.”

He increased his speed, bringing me beyond the brink into subspace. “Come for me, Angel. Come now.”

My body shattered, exploding into a million pieces, and then pulled itself back together again, only to erupt once again. I cried out. Calling Gray’s name over and over.

He continued to push my body, drawing out the orgasm until I sobbed and collapsed.

Gray quickly unwrapped my wrists and pulled me into his arms.

  “You are mine, Angelina. Forever.”

Not Half So Happy in Heaven

I walked into the office at the club and couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. I hadn’t been able to all weekend, and likely wouldn’t stop smiling for several more weekends to come. The opening had been more successful than I imagined and our orientation classes for new members were filled up for months.

Thank God, we’d decided to close on Mondays and Tuesdays. I needed more than a couple of days to recover from the intensity of the scene with Gray.

I waved at Jim behind the bar and he held up a mug of coffee.

“Oh, you’re a saint. Thanks.” I sipped the brew and sat down at the bar. “How come you’re here and even before me for that matter?”

“Gray called and said you wanted to come down this morning and asked if I’d keep an eye on the place while you were here.”

I glared at him. “You’re my babysitter?”

“Nah. I needed to do some inventory anyway.”

Yeah, right. “I’m going to my office. If Gray comes in, tell him to fuck off.”

  “Will do.”

Two boxes sat waiting for me on my desk. They both had the cream heavy weight gift box with black satin bows from Serenity, the kinky jewelry maker I’d employed to make Gray’s collar. Day late and a million dollars short.

I slipped the ribbon off the first box and lifted the lid. The dark leather cord stood out in stark contrast to the cream tissue paper. I lifted it out and marveled at how something so light could embody such masculinity. This was no collar for a sub. It practically screamed power and control with its wide twists and antiqued clasp. It reminded me of a crown for a king.

On the front were the two charms I’d requested. A stylized devil embracing an angel.

But if this was Gray’s collar, what was in the other box? Maybe they’d sent me a bonus gift. I had spent a good chunk of change on this custom design.

I put the collar back into its tissue next and slid it into a drawer. It wouldn’t do for Gray to find it.

I opened the other box and found a necklace inside. Dangling from the chain was a delicate birdcage made of thin wire. Inside a small grey clay base supported a curvy angel.

  Another gift from Gray.

It was breathtaking, but dark. Like, I was being caged. Still, the craftsmanship was exquisite and it would be a shame for it to go unappreciated.

Gray’s taste in jewelry wasn’t mine, but I’d cherish and wear it all the same, as I had with the other two. Not that he’d ever noticed.

I hooked the chain around my neck and the cold charm sat directly over my heart.

I would wear it, so he knew I’d gotten it and loved him for giving it to me, but it was going directly into the jewelry box with the other two when I got home.

“Hey, babe.” Gray walked into the office. “What do you have there?”

He lifted the necklace from my chest and examined it close. “Where did you get this?”

I motioned to packaging. “From the box you left on my desk.”

His curiosity turned into a scowl. “I didn’t leave you a box. I haven’t been here any time when I wasn’t with you. Why would you think this was from me?”

Umm, because this was the third necklace he’d sent me in as many months. “Are you trying to be funny?

  “Take it off. Right now.”

He didn’t wait for me to unclasp the chain, he yanked it from my neck. “I would never put you in a cage.”

The tiny cage bent into a tangle of wires beneath his anger. He smushed the clay between his fingers.

“Do you know what this is?” He held a chunk of the gray base between his fingers.

I shook my head. It apparently wasn’t clay.

“It’s C4.” He pulled the angel charm out of the grey mass and broke it in half. Inside was a very small microchip and some wires. “And this charm is a fucking remote detonator.”

  Mierda.

Gray crushed the chip on the desk. “Where did you get this, Angel?”

“It was here.” I picked up the box and the card I hadn’t yet opened.

Gray snatched the card and tore it open. “You didn’t read this?”

“Not yet. What does it say?”

Gray handed me the card. The lines of a poem, I’d once thought pretty love words were chilling this time.

The Angels, not half so happy in Heaven,

  Went envying her and me—

Yes!—that was the reason (as all men know,

In this kingdom by the sea)

That the wind came out of the cloud by night,

  Chilling and killing my Serenity.

For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams

  Of the beautiful Serenity;

And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes

  Of the beautiful Serenity;

And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side

Of my darling—my darling—my life and my bride,

In her sepulchre there by the sea—

In her tomb by the sounding sea.

I shook the paper. “These lines are like the poem you wrote me, but like a cold twisted continuation of the verse.”

Gray practically vibrated with anger. “I never wrote you a poem.”

“Yes, you did, when you gave me the other necklace.” My words trailed off. The angel wrapped in chains had come from Serenity Designs too. I’d worn it that one day, and Gray had never said anything about it.

My voice trembled on the words. “Remember the day we went to dinner and caught the guy messing with our permits?”

He stared at me not understanding where I was going with this. “Yes. Does that dumbass have something to do with t
he necklace?”

I slowly nodded. “I was wearing a lotus necklace that day. I thought you’d left it on the bed with my clothes.”

Gray shook his head, looking more grim by the second. “We need to get you the hell out of here.”

  “You’re not going anywhere, Baker.”

Time in my world slowed. I felt mired in quicksand and couldn’t move. My heart wasn’t beating correctly. I could feel each pound of it against my chest, but it was far too slow. The muscles in my neck were working on reflex as they turned my head toward the doorway.

Even my eyes didn’t want to register what they saw.

Foster Bennett rolled into the office, a gun pointed at me and Gray.

Time surged into a fast forward, catching back up with itself.

“Fucking hell.” Gray put himself between me and Foster, then snapped up his phone and barked out orders.

“Jackass, Bennett is on the premises. He’s got access to C4. Tell the guys this is a danger close situation and use them to evacuate any civilians, now.”

Foster laughed. “Jackass won’t be helping you. My men took care of that.”

“What did you do to Jim?” I yelled from behind Gray.

“I have no beef with him. He’s simply been removed from the situation. He may have a nasty headache in the morning, but he’ll live. I can’t say the same for you, Angelina.”

“You’re going to shoot me?” This couldn’t be happening. Gray would do anything to make sure that I wasn’t hurt and that also meant he’d take a bullet for me.

Foster scoffed. “Nothing that crass. This is insurance to make sure you don’t think you can escape. I won’t shoot to kill, and Baker here knows I can.”

Gray pushed me farther behind him, blocking my view of the asshole.

“What do you want, Bennett?” The tension I could feel in Gray’s body was full force in his words.

“To shoot your legs out from under you, so you can know the same pain I have for the last ten years before you die. I doubt your Angel will stick around when you have to shit into a bag every day like I do. No woman would.”

I pushed against the cage of Gray’s arms, determined that Foster would not destroy our lives. If I could simply keep him talking maybe someone would come for us. “Why are you doing this?”

“One very simple reason. Gray destroyed my life, and all of my dreams of ever being happy in this shitty hell hole of my existence. I’m simply returning the favor.”

  Till Death Do Us Part

“You know I can’t let you hurt her, Bennett. I’ve trained Angelina well. She’ll escape and evade while you and I are wrestling over the gun.”

  I would?

  No. Fucking. Way.

I wasn’t leaving Gray here to get shot and killed.

“No, she won’t, will you girly? She thinks she’s devoted to you, that she loves you. She’s already making plans in her head how she’s going to take care of you as you recover, and she might for a month or two. Then she’ll give up on you like everyone else in your life has.”

That was far from right. In fact, that was crazy talk. Literally. Foster was seriously mentally ill. Was that what he’d decided happened to him? Because, that wasn’t the way Gray told it. He’d been there for Foster for a long time.

Someone important gave up on him to make him this bitter and angry.

“Jesus Christ, man. None of us gave up on you. You’re the one who quit living.”

“You call this living? I can’t walk. I can't fuck a beautiful woman. Christ, I can’t even jack off with my permanently limp dick. This isn’t living. This is hell.” Foster’s voice was bordering on crazytown.

This whole thing wasn’t about Gray and me at all. It was about Serena.

Gray wouldn’t talk about her. He had a mad on about even bringing her up. Had she been by Foster’s side in the hospital and then disappeared on him?

I ducked under Gray’s arm and stepped beside him. “Foster, stop. Hurting us isn’t going to bring Serena back to you.”

He immediately pointed the gun at me. “You shut the fuck up, you fat whore. You don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Gray tried to push me behind him again. I took his hand in mine and gave it a squeeze, asking him to trust me. He shook his head, but didn’t shove me aside.

I looked back at Foster. “I do know. You loved her.”

  “Shut. Up.”

“She betrayed that love, even after you sacrificed your life for her.”

“She didn’t betray me. Baker did. If he hadn’t shot me—”

I was about to take a huge risk and Gray was going to kill me. If we lived through the next several minutes. I stepped toward Foster, letting Gray’s hand go. “Angel, don’t.”

Dear Baby Jesus, please let this work.

I knelt at Fosters legs and put my hands on his knees, hoping against hope that he would respond to my submissiveness. “I get it. I thought I loved someone once who betrayed me too.” Foster didn’t respond so I kept on. “That wasn’t true love, and I had to learn how to get over it, so I could get to the real deal.”

“You think he loves you? Baker isn’t capable.” His gun lowered by half an inch.

“I do love her, Bennett. She is everything to me.” Foster looked between Gray and I and a dozen thoughts, ideas, and emotion flashed through his eyes.

“Nothing you say or do can make me question that. I am his and he is mine. If you ever want that for yourself, you need to grow up. Love and life are not always easy. A lot of times it doesn’t work out the way we want it to. Don’t be such a macho macho guy that you can’t own up to having feelings. Have them. Work through them and move on.” Like every other person in the world had to do at some point. Even me.

I couldn’t tell if anything I was saying or doing was getting through, except for the fact that he lowered the gun to the wheelchair arm rest.

“I can do something, all right.” I felt the muscles in Foster’s legs under my hands tense and slowly, he rose up to standing. “I’ve been working toward this moment for years. No one ever thought I would stand again, much less walk.”

“That’s great. See, you’re moving on already.”

“No. I will move on though. If I can’t get my revenge by crippling Baker so he can experience the depths of misery he’s given to me.” Foster’s voice grew dark and he raised the gun. “I’ll do the next best thing and take away the thing that keeps him going. You.”

In less than a second, I had a gun pointed at my head and then I was being pushed down to the ground and rolled across the floor.

My back slammed into the desk and I got the wind knocked out of me. But I wasn’t dead and neither was Gray. The gun hadn’t even gone off.

I lifted my head and saw Foster slumped back into his chair, blood running from his nose.

“What happened?” I blinked a few times and realized Gray had roundhouse kicked Foster over my head, knocking him back, then tackled me.

“Good girl, getting down low like that. Now, we’ve got to get you out of here. Come on.” Gray half dragged me crawling across the floor toward the office door. Foster groaned behind me and I double-timed my movements.

The hallway from the office to the club was dark, but I followed closely behind Gray.

“Damn. He must have cut power to everywhere but the office. The whole place is dark.”

I couldn’t see a thing. We didn’t exactly have a whole lot of windows. Nobody wanted peeping Toms at a BDSM club.

“Which way?” I whispered to Gray.

“Straight ahead and keep your head down. Go slowly and quietly so if you run into anything you’re not hurt and you don't make a sound.”

“Mistress?” A loud stage-whisper resounded through the club.

  “Ilario?”

“Follow my voice. I have a car outside to get away.”

I scrambled toward Ilario’s voice with Gray right behind me.

“Baker. It’s too late now. I will find
you. Wherever you go, wherever you hide. Let’s end this now instead, shall we?”

  “Gray, don’t you dare.”

Shit. Shit. Shit. He wasn’t behind me anymore.

I heard a scuffle just off to the right and then someone falling and the clatter of metal screeching across the floor.

“Go, Angel, go, go, go.” Suddenly I was being picked up and dragged into and past furniture until we slammed through the front door and into the light. I stumbled out into the parking lot looking everywhere for Ilario.

A car with red rental plates screeched across the asphalt toward me. I had only and instant to dodge or be turned into road kill.

I turned and ran back for the front door. There was no other cover close by. At least I could get away from whoever Foster had trying to run me down long enough to regroup.

“Angel, no.” Gray ran out the front door, blood dripping from his lip, and bolted toward me. He grabbed me and we jumped into the entryway, slamming the door behind us.

We tumbled to the floor again but Gray broke my fall with his own body. “You okay?”

“No.” I was very far from okay. “You?”

“Baker.” Foster’s voice rang out across the dark, empty main room of the club.

  Chingada Madre.

“We’ve got to get you out of here.”

I grabbed at his arm. “You’re coming with.”

“When I open that door again don’t run into the lot. You run toward the side of the building. I’ll run toward the car to distract him.”

“No way.” It wasn’t only my head that was shaking now.

“Baker.” Foster’s voice was slowly moving closer.

“We’re out of time, love. I’ll be right behind you, I promise.”

Gray yanked the door open, flooding the room with light. He glanced out the door. “Oh fuck, he’s covered in blood. I’ll get him. Go, Angel, go.”

I didn’t know who was covered in blood and I didn’t want to know. I ran like Gray told me to.

I reached the side of the building and turned to see where Gray was. He was running toward the car, which had stopped in the middle of the parking lot.

He reached for the car door but it was already opening. He wanted to save whoever it was inside that was bleeding. Why would he want to save one of Foster’s goons? Why would he save someone who had tried to run me down.
